Part one: Are you ready for this? (10m)
Before moving forward make sure all of these steps are completed.
- Your written speech is completely finished
- You have completed a self assessment from listening to yourself read your speech
- You have completed a peer assessment from listening to your partner read their speech
- You are happy with your recorded speech.
…
Part two: editing your audio file (15m)
When you are happy with your voice recording you may begin editing your Garage Band audio file so that it has both your voice recording as well as nature sounds.
Upload nature audio files based on their descriptive name which you think will best suit your speech. Do not start listening to or incorporating your nature audio files until you have completed self-assessment and had a peer (your partner) assess your audio file.
BEGIN YOUR AUDIO FILE WITH YOUR FULL NAME: eg, “Ellie Bortz. I would like to acknowledge….”
SAVE YOUR AUDIO FILE AS YOUR FULL NAME: eg ELLIE_BORTZ

part three: the exhibition (20m)
You should have the following things set up and prepared:
- Your Garage Band audio file has been saved as your name: ELLIE_BORTZ
- Your ipad or computer has working earphones attached
- You have your Huawei 360 Virtual Reality image opened and set up with cardboard VR glasses
You are now a member of parliament! You have just received messages from community members from around the Blue Mountains National Park persuading you to NOT go ahead with the destruction for the new suburb.
You will now have 15 minutes to immerse yourselves in the virtual journeys and listen to the persuasive speeches.
For the final few minutes of this module we will be meeting with our initial partners to provide feedback on each others final presentation. What to say:
- Share something you noticed your partner improved since you completed the peer-assessment feedback form.
- Identify one way in which you thought your partner was creative and engaging with their presentation.
…
part four: post lesson feedback
You will receive your final individual marks next week. To see the marking rubric again click the Your Mission link.
